CCID Successfully Convened the Closed-door Meeting: Network of Partnership on New Industrial Revolution under the Framework of Global Development Initiative

On January 10, 2024, the Closed-door Meeting: Network of Partnership on New Industrial Revolution under the Framework of Global Development Initiative (hereinafter referred to as the GDI-PartNIR Network or Network) was successfully convened in Beijing.Yu Zhicheng, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Yao Jun, Deputy Director General of the MIIT Planning Department, Shen Tujiang, Deputy Director General of the Global Development Promotion Center of China International Development Cooperation Agency, and Zhang Xiaoyan, Deputy Director General of the China Center for Information Industry Development, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

During the meeting, the attendees reviewed the development of the Global Development Initiative 2023 GDI-PartNIR Network, and delivered keynote speeches on "New Industrialization", "Digital Economy" and "Green Development". The attendees shared the typical practices of the industry and further explored the potential cooperation within the Network.54 entities including embassies and consulates in China, well-known think tanks, head enterprises, industry associations from 9 countries attended the meeting.The attendees agreed 14 organizations from 6 countries, including China, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Hungary and Israel, to join the Network.

Zhang Xiaoyan, vice president of CCID, said that the global development initiative and the building of partnership for the new industrial revolution are important initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping.In 2023, under the guidance of MIIT and the support of the Global Development Promotion Center, CCID has been making pragmatical contribution to the Network as the founding member.In 2024, CCID will continue to play a constructive role in the Network and be dedicated to fostering a new cooperative ecosystem of international industries from four aspects:promoting exchanges on polices and practice of new idnustrialization and global new indsutrial revolution; advancing joint research at international level; galvanizing in-depth cooperation between the members and expanding the Network.

Hou Xue, Deputy Director of CCID International Cooperation Research Center, reported on the the Network's work in 2023 and the work plan for 2024. Then, she released the Compilation of GDI-PartNIR Network Members' Policies and Practice (2023).Zhang Maonan, Deputy Director General of the U.S.-Europe Department of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE); Zhang Wei, Deputy Secretary General of the China Center for Globalization (CCG); Michael Yeoh, Chairman of the Kingsley Strategic Institute (KSI) from Malaysia; Matic Gajsek, Deputy Secretary General of the EU-Asia Center from Belgium; Sarinya Sanitwong na Ayutthaya, Dean of the Faculty of International Maritime Studies at the Kasetsart University; Muhammad Tariq, Head of Electricity Engineering Department, Pakistan National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences, and Adrian Boening, Media Spokesperson of Verband Deutscher Hidden Champions, delivered onsite/online keynote speeches, and more than 20 Chinese and international delegates participated in the discussion after the speeches.

After the meeting, some delegates had a study visit to CCID, Lenovo Group, YonyouTechnology.

The GDI-PartNIR Network was launched in April 2023, with the CCID as the founding member and the CCIEE and the CCG as co-founding members.The current Network members include 102 divserified entities from 17 countries. The members will make concerted efforts for a promising future of the Network.
