GDI-PartNIR Network Hosted the Thematic Seminar on Smart Transportation with Peru

On the morning of January 7, 2025, CCID, joined hands with the Embassy of Peru in China and the General Directorate of Multimodal Transportation Policies and Regulation under the Perus Ministry of Transport and Communications, co-organized the thematic seminar on smart transportation as part of the series of activities of Network of the Partnership on New Industrial Revolution under the Framework of Global Development Initiative (hereinafter referred to as the GDI-PartNIR Network) for international industrial cooperation in 2025.

More than 60 participants, including representatives of Peruvian government and the embassy in China, and international organizations, think tanks and enterprises from China and Peru, totaling more than 60 people, shared their insights online or onsite. Marco Balarezo, the Ambassador of Peru to China, and Victor Arroyo, the General Director of the Perus Ministry of Transport and Communications, delivered speeches, wished a great success of the seminar and hoping that the Peruvian side can promote the development of the electric vehicle industry and the smart transportation after learning from China's experience. The seminar was co-chaired by Ivan Tello, Director of Science and Technology Affairs of the Embassy of Peru in China, and Hou Xue, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Research Center of CCID.

Experts from think tanks, international organizations and enterprises such as Industrial Policy Research Center of CCID,  Research Institute Highway under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (RIOH), Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP), National Innovation Center of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles, Guizhou Bridge Construction Group Co., Ltd., etc., spoke from the perspectives of policy, technology and safety, and had fruitful exchanges with the Peruvian side.

The seminar strengthened the mutual understanding between the Chinese and Peruvian side and contributed to the wisdom of the GDI Network in promoting China-Peru cooperation in the automotive and transportation fields.
