On 24th April, CCID organized Global Development Initiative Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Symposium in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. Jin Zhuanglong, the Minister of Industry and Information Technology delivered a speech in form of virtual conference. Vice Minister Xu Xiaolan hosted the opening ceremony.
Jin Zhuanglong said that under the framework of the global development initiative, China is willing to work with all parties to build a new industrial revolution partnership which lays emphasis on future, innovation, inclusion and jointly promoting development by means of strengthening cooperation in the fields of industrialization and digitalization and promoting more robust, green, and healthy global development.
The first is to stimulate innovation vitality and promote digital transformation of manufacturing industry. We will jointly build a technology innovation system with enterprises as the main body, market orientation, and deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application, supporting the GDI-PartNIR to focus on strengthening innovation cooperation in strategic emerging areas, and to promote the digital, networked, and intelligent development of the manufacturing industry. The second is to adhere to openness and inclusiveness, and to maintain the stability of the industrial and supply chains. We need strengthen complementary advantages and synergistic effects as well as support enterprises to carry out upstream and downstream collaborative cooperation in the industrial chain, promoting the interconnection of the industrial and supply chain, stimulating efficient allocation of resource elements, and jointly building a safe, stable, and resilient industrial and supply chain. The third is to build a communication platform and to strengthen the alignment of strategic policy standards. We will build a comprehensive, multi-level and practical cooperation platform, enhancing the level of “soft connectivity”, jointly carrying out researches, knowledge sharing, standard docking and project cooperation, advocating for the inclusive sharing of new technologies, tools, and resources as well as promoting the benefits of development achievements to more countries. The fourth is to strengthen capacity building and to solidify the talent foundation for industrial development. Under the framework of the New Industrial Revolution Partnership, we will strengthen cooperation with United Nations agencies and carry out talent exchange and capacity enhancement programs for developing countries and emerging market countries.
The seminar was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Fujian Provincial People’s Government, and the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government. Approximately 150 representatives from 25 countries’ ministries of industry and information technoloogy, embassies and consulates in China, research institutions, industry associations, leading enterprises, and relevant international organizations attended the symposium. At the symposium, the Chairman’s Statement of the Global Development Initiative on New Industrial Revolution Partnership Seminar was released, advocating for further strengthening cooperation among countries in the fields of industrialization, digitization, innovation, inclusiveness, and sustainable development, empowering developing countries to seize the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, working together to build a collaborative innovation ecosystem, and promoting the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The symposium also held a launch ceremony for the Global Development Initiative on New Industrial Revolution Partnership Network, with 88 institutions from different regions around the world joining the network.
CCID, Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology jointly held this symposium. CCID as a founding member of the Global Development Initiative on New Industrial Revolution Partnership Network, was one of the main organizers. A keynote speech was given by the Vice President of CCID, Zhang Xiaoyan, at the symposium on the topic of researching the leapfrog development path of the global new industrial revolution from three aspects: connotation and characteristics, practice and achievements, direction and path.
