CUI was established in 1998, chaired by the Chancellor of the university, the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The CUI currently comprises of 6 faculties, 22 departments and 8 research centers. CUI has become the first higher education institution in Pakistan to offer hybrid teaching from its Fall 2017 semester. There are more than 2,100 faculty members working in CUI with more than 1130 faculty members and academic managers having PhD qualification. More than 90,000 graduates have been produced including more than 650 PhDs. CUI has signed more than 150 MoU with leading universities of the world.
