The Tanzania Council of Science and Technology, a semi-official organization formerly known as the Tanzania National Council for Scientific Research (UTAFITI), is responsible for coordinating and promoting research and technology development activities in the country. It is the principal advisor to the government in charge of all matters related to science and technology and their application in the socio-economic development of the country and is under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Tanzania.
